Appears when one or more covers of the printer are open. 50 If USB Connection Fails If USB Connection Fails Problem The printer is not automatically recognized. Causes The USB cable is not connected properly. Solutions Disconnect the USB cable, turn off the printer, and then turn it on again. When the printer has fully booted up, reconnect the USB cable. Open Windows' Device Manager, and then, under [Universal Serial Bus controllers], remove any conflicting devices. A [!] or [?] icon is displayed for conflicting devices. Take care not to accidentally remove required devices. For details, see Windows Help. Windows has already configured the USB settings. Check whether or not the computer has identified the printer as an unsupported device. 51 3. Troubleshooting When Messages Are Displayed This section describes the main messages that appear on the display panel and printed error logs and reports. If other messages appear, follow their instructions. Status Messages Message "Calibrating. . . " "Energy Saver Mode" "Hex Dump Mode" "Job Suspended" "Offline" "Please wait. . . " Status The printer is calibrating the color. Press any key to recover to the normal mode. In Hex Dump mode, the printer receives data in a hexadecimal format. Turn off the printer after printing, and then turn it on again. Turn off the printer, and turn it on again to resume the jobs. The printer is offline and cannot print. This message may appear for a few seconds. It means the printer is initializing, replenishing toner, or performing maintenance operations. To resume printing, press the [Suspend/Resume] key. The printer is applying the changes made to its settings. The printer is updating the @Remote certificate.
